The kids’ fall recare visits are on the board. Yours is often the one that slides.
If you already go to Smile Dentistry in Fishers, Simply Smile in Carmel, or Simply Smile in North Indy — the three offices of Indy Smile Group — recare is the same visit it always was. Cleaning and exam with the team that already has the chart. No new-patient paperwork. Book it at the office you already use.
Why adults skip, and why September is the easy month
Work, school drop-off, and the sports calendar fill first. Preventive visits for the parent get pushed to “after the holidays,” which is when every chair is already full.
A September or October recare visit is the quieter slot. It is also the visit that catches wear, chips, a cracked filling, or a bite that has drifted since last year — before those turn into a longer appointment in December.
If anyone in the house is overdue, pair the visits. Ask the desk at the office you already use.
What the visit includes
For existing patients, recare is a professional cleaning and exam. X-rays are taken only when they are due. When an Oral Health Scan is due, it is included at no extra charge. The iTero scanner at all three offices captures a 3D model of the teeth and bite so we can compare this year with last year when a prior scan is on file.
The scan does not replace X-rays. If it has been more than a year since the last scan — or there has never been one — mention that when you confirm. We will plan it into the visit.

If you are new
The recare visit and the complimentary Oral Health Scan are for patients already in the practice.
New patients are welcome at all three offices. The New Patient Special is $99 for the exam and necessary X-rays. Cleaning is not included. New patients only. Not valid with insurance.
Straightening and whitening stay separate
Some adults who come in for recare also ask about aligners or whitening. Invisalign treatment for kids or adults is $4,979. The only add-on is the IPE appliance at $749 when a growing child needs it. Professional whitening is $399 in-office or $249 take-home. Those are planned only after we have a current picture of the bite and enamel.
