Invisalign for Teens in 2025: What Carmel & Fishers Parents Need to Know
April 29, 2025 • 7 minute read
If you have a teenager who needs braces, you’ve probably heard the word “Invisalign” more than a few times. But is it actually the right choice for your 13- or 16-year-old? Here’s what our Carmel and Fishers teams tell parents every week.
The biggest advantage: Confidence
Traditional metal braces can be brutal during the teenage years. Invisalign Teen aligners are virtually invisible. Most kids can go through treatment without anyone at school noticing. That confidence boost is worth its weight in gold.
iTero® changes everything
At all three Indy Smile Group offices we use the iTero Element scanner. A quick 60-second digital scan replaces the horrible goopy impression trays teens dread. The scans are incredibly accurate, which means fewer refinements and shorter treatment times — often 6 to 12 months for moderate cases.
Hygiene is dramatically easier
With metal braces, brushing and flossing become complicated and time-consuming. With Invisalign, teens simply remove the trays, brush and floss normally, then pop them back in. Parents report far fewer white-spot lesions and cavities at the end of treatment.

Every teen’s mouth is different. Some severe cases still require traditional braces. But the majority of teens we see in Carmel, Fishers, and North Indy are excellent Invisalign candidates.
