Immediately After Treatment
- The tooth and surrounding area may be numb for a few hours — avoid chewing until sensation returns.
- A temporary filling or crown has been placed. Do not eat sticky or hard foods on that side.
- Some soreness or sensitivity when biting is normal for several days.
- Take any prescribed or over-the-counter pain medication as needed.
Until Your Permanent Crown Is Placed
- The tooth is more fragile without a crown — avoid chewing hard foods on it.
- Keep the area clean with gentle brushing and flossing.
- If the temporary filling comes out or feels high, call us promptly.
- Schedule and keep your crown appointment as soon as possible (ideally within a few weeks).
